It is hard to have a worse start to the season than what Georgia did in the first half.
At the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs had more penalty yards than offensive yards. The Bulldogs played multiple quarterbacks, starting with D’Wan Mathis and then going to Stetson Bennett in the second quarter.

Mathis was 6 of 14 for 37 yards, an interception as well as a dropped snap that took the Bulldogs out of field goal range. Bennett went 9-for-14 for 92 yards. Georgia also ran for just 48 yards in the first half. Conversely, the Bulldogs had 11 first-half penalties for 98 yards.
Bennett did show some progress to end the half, executing a two-minute drill to get Georgia a field goal from Jack Podlesny to make the score 7-5. The Bulldogs gained 59 yards on the final drive of the half.
Just about everyone was disappointed with the Georgia offense and all parties involved.

I have now reached the point where I am rooting for a defensive TD the rest of the game as our only hope.

The Bulldogs played mostly stellar defense, with the exception of one touchdown drive in the first quarter. The Bulldogs did force a safety against the Razorbacks and Richard LeCounte did have an interception of Arkansas quarterback Feleipe Franks.

But much of the first half focus was on the offense, which went 1-for-12 on third down. The Bulldogs had six drives into Arkansas territory and came away with 3 points. This is also against an Arkansas team that has a new coach in Sam Pittman and a team that had the worst defense in the SEC last season.
This is the first game for new Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken and it was very much one to forget. Georgia will look to turn things around in the second half against the Razorbacks. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
