Sharon Osbourne defended Piers Morgan’s criticism of Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey after he quit “Good Morning Britain.”

@piersmorgan I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth,” Osbourne, 68, tweeted on Tuesday.

She and her husband Ozzy Osbourne have been friends with Morgan for years and even opened up to the television host in an exclusive interview about the rocker’s diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease.

Like Morgan, the Osbournes seem to be on the side of Buckingham Palace, as the Black Sabbath frontman performed for Queen Elizabeth II during her Golden Jubilee pop concert in 2002. Sharon claimed that she accidentally grabbed Camilla Parker-Bowles’ breasts at the show.

ITV announced on Tuesday that Morgan resigned from his position on the talk show.

“Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave ‘Good Morning Britain,’” the network said in a statement. “ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

Morgan quit shortly after he walked off set during a heated discussion on Meghan and Prince Harry’s Oprah interview where his co-star, Alex Beresford, slammed him for his harsh opinions on the royal couple.

“I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made it so clear a number of times on this program, and I understand that you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle and she cut you off,” Beresford said. “Has she said anything about you after she cut you off? She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. And yet you continue to trash her.”

Morgan then walked off-set, calling his co-star’s words “diabolical.” He later tweeted that he was just “annoyed,” so he “went for a little cool-down, and came back to finish the discussion.”

But hours later Morgan stepped down from his position on the show.

Morgan has been openly critical over Meghan and Harry’s decision to do an interview with CBS about their experience with the royal family and called the ordeal a “two-hour trash-a-thon” of the royals and “an absolutely disgraceful betrayal of The Queen and the royal family.”

The actress opened up about having suicidal thoughts as well as why she and Harry decided to step down as royals during the CBS interview with Oprah on Sunday. They also revealed that someone in the royal family had “concerns” over their son Archie’s skin color.

The Queen has since issued a statement on the tell-all, saying, “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
