Since 1997, the Fontana, California, track had hosted at least one Cup race a year before the 2021 race was canceled and moved to the Daytona International Speedway road course because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fresh off his Daytona 500 victory, Austin Cindric will start on the pole in Sunday’s race after posting the fastest time in the brand new knockout qualifying introduced this season. Erik Jones, who notched the second-fastest time in the final round of qualifying, will start alongside on the front row.
