Theres reason to speculate that Street Fighter 5 Season Vs final mysterious challenger could be a male based on their number of costumes – EventHubs

Dan, Rose, Oro, and Akira Kazama (from Rival Schools) were revealed to be four out of five characters from Street Fighter 5’s “Season V” roster. It seems that Capcom wasn’t quite ready to reveal that last character during their Summer Update stream.

The only things we know about the final Season V character is that they’ll be releasing in Fall 2021 and they’ll launch with three costumes aside from their default appearance. Based on this information, there’s reason to believe that this fifth combatant is possibly male.

According to the Season V Roadmap, Rose and Akira will both have five different alternate outfits that can be acquired upon their launch. Meanwhile, Dan Hibiki and Oro will gain access to four and three costumes respectively.

Similar to Oro, players will be able to purchase three costumes for our unknown fighter when they launch in Fall 2021. It feels as though there’s a very good reason why Capcom is releasing the most costumes for Rose and Akira out of this bunch.

On average, female DLC characters in Street Fighter 5 launch with more alternate costume options than males. More than likely, outfits for female characters sell more than those of the men — though this is only speculation on my part.

Let’s take a closer look at the number of outfits that were released for each DLC character throughout the lifespan of Street Fighter 5.

• Alex – 2
• Guile – 2
• Ibuki – 2
• Balrog – 2
• Urien – 2
• Juri – 2

• Akuma – 3
• Kolin – 3
• Ed – 2
• Abigail – 2
• Menat – 2
• Zeku – 3

• Sakura – 3
• Blanka – 3
• Falke – 2
• Cody – 4
• G – 2
• Sagat – 3

• Kage – 2
• E. Honda – 3
• Lucia – 4
• Poison – 4
• Gill – 3
• Seth – 4

• Dan – 4
• Rose – 5
• Oro – 3
• Akira – 5
• Final Character – 3

Among the 17 male DLC characters, 45 alternate costumes were announced to launch with them. This means that a male DLC character has an average of 2.64 alternate costumes upon their release.

The 11 female DLC fighters (counting Seth as female), essentially come with 36 new outfits. On average, females will launch with 3.27 outfits.

However, it’s worth noting that Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien of Season 1 all had two alternate costumes by default since Capcom weren’t varying up the number of launch costumes that early into the game’s lifespan. If we exclude them, then the male average jumps to 2.84 costumes while the female average rises to 3.55 costumes.

In addition, there have been more male characters released as DLC in Street Fighter 5 than women in every season so far. While there are no guarantees here, this seems to hint that Street Fighter 5’s final combatant could be male.
