For its fifth season, Netflix’s Queer Eye headed to the City of Brotherly Love, where the Fab Five transformed the lives of a queer pastor, a neighborhood activist, and a Jersey Shore DJ, among others. There were sweatpants to be thrown out, crabs to be boiled, glottals to be stopped. Now, in this special clip, the Five try their hand at remaking the life of a true Philadelphia legend: the hockey mascot–radical socialist icon Gritty. (He was nominated by the Phillie Phanatic, of course.) Thankfully, Jonathan doesn’t touch his beautifully untamed eyebrows, and Tan has a hard time getting him to change out of a Flyers uniform. In fact, they don’t wind up making many differences in his life at all. But the Grittiness eventually rubs off on them — Antoni even eats a carb.
