The website said 1,363 of the state’s deaths involved Iowans with preexisting conditions. The Iowa DPH website reports 243,931 confirmed cases statewide since Iowa’s outbreak began, with an additional 1,869 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. The Iowa DPH reports 137 COVID-19 outbreaks among long-term care facilities in the state, accounting for 5,282 of Iowa’s total positive cases. COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care facilities account for 1,118 of the state’s total deaths. Iowa DPH reports 918 hospitalizations, of which 195 patients are in intensive care units. Iowa hospitals admitted 141 patients the last 24 hours, compared to 141 hospitalizations the day before. Of Iowa’s 99 counties, 75 report 14-day positivity rates above 15%. Three Iowa counties report a 14-day positivity rate below 10%. According to the state’s website, a total of 1,248,999 Iowans received COVID-19 tests. Iowa’s average reported positivity rate is 16.5% over the last 14 days. Of the state’s confirmed cases, 158,994 Iowans recovered.
