ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday there were more than 20 Kansas City Chiefs players and staffers – including star quarterback Patrick Mahomes – that were scheduled Sunday to get a haircut with a barber who tested positive for COVID-19.Two Chiefs players – receiver Demarcus Robinson and center Daniel Kilgore – landed on the team’s COVID-19 reserve list after a positive test from a barber brought into Arrowhead. But that list could have been much longer, Schefter reported.“The Chiefs acted wisely and aggressively and pulled the barber — mid-cut — once his test results came in,” Schefter reported.Schefter reported Kilgore was mid-haircut when the barber was notified that he was COVID-19 positive. Schefter reported both Kilgore and the barber were wearing masks.Kilgore has remained away from the team since being added to the list. He has tested negative and can return to the team on Saturday when the Chiefs depart for the Super Bowl in Tampa. Schefter said, per a source, that Kilgore should be able to play Sunday. The NFL Network reported Tuesday, citing sources close to the team, that the barber involved tested negative five consecutive days before being allowed to enter the Chiefs’ facility. The barber reportedly took an additional rapid test before entering the facility Sunday, but the NFL Network reported those results were slightly delayed because of a line of friends and family also entering the facility around the same time. The NFL Network said the barber was wearing double personal protective equipment when the positive test results came back. After being removed from the area, the barber reportedly told the team he’d also cut Robinson’s hair the day before away from the facility — a PCR test from that day returned negative.
