15 characters on the base roster
Giovanna has been revealed as the latest character for Guilty Gear Strive. She is apparently a body guard for the U.S. president.
Similar to Nagoriyuki, Giovanna is a newcomer to the Guilty Gear series. According to the developers, she’s intended to be a simple character to pick up.
This new character is shown fighting alongside a green dog or wolf spirit of some sort. Notably, these two never appear to separate from one another during gameplay.
Giovanna appears to be particularly adept with her kicks. Her trailer almost exclusively demonstrates her performing kicks or attacks that utilize the green wolf spirit.
Near the end of the reveal, we were told that Guilty Gear Strive will launch in early 2021 with 15 characters in the base roster. The next character trailer will debut on January 1, 2021.
Based on what was shown, it seems that the 14th character is Mito Anji. Aside from DLC, there is only one more fighter to be revealed for Guilty Gear Strive.
