Governor has said he tested negative for COVID-19 three times

Gov. Chris Sununu is being checked out at Portsmouth Hospital as he continues to be sick with flu-like symptoms, the governor’s staff said Friday.Sununu announced earlier this week that he had flu-like symptoms. He said he has tested negative three times for COVID-19, but his chief of staff, Jayne Millerick, said Friday that the cause of his symptoms is unknown.”Governor Sununu is being evaluated by Portsmouth Hospital this morning as a precautionary measure to determine the cause of the flu-like symptoms he has been experiencing this week,” Millerick said. “More information will be shared as it becomes available.”Millerick said Sununu has not been hospitalized.Sununu was tested for COVID-19 Wednesday, two days after returning from a trip to Kentucky, where said he learned how that state was handling a surge in the virus.

“Governor Sununu is being evaluated by Portsmouth Hospital this morning as a precautionary measure to determine the cause of the flu-like symptoms he has been experiencing this week,” Millerick said. “More information will be shared as it becomes available.”

Millerick said Sununu has not been hospitalized.
