Iowa’s 14-day COVID-19 positivity rate has dipped to 10%.On Friday, the Iowa Department of Public Health reported 945 new COVID-19 cases and 45 additional deaths.At 10 a.m., the health department reported 317,381 total positive cases, 281,200 total recoveries and 4,577 total deaths since the start of the pandemic. The health department reported 316,436 total cases and 4,532 total deaths 24 hours earlier.Iowa’s positivity rates continue to decline and now the 14-day rate has dipped to 10%. The 7-day average dropped from 7.8% to 7.5% overnight. State data shows 1,462,817 Iowans have been tested for the virus, while 3,579,558 tests have been administered.The number of Iowa counties reporting a positivity rate over 15% dropped from 8 to 7. Sixty-three counties report a rate lower than 10%, with Greene County showing the lowest rate in the state at 3.9%. Kossuth County reports the highest rate in the state at 19.6%.COVID-19 hospitalizations dropped from 391 to 383. There were 60 patients hospitalized in the last 24 hours, up from 52 the previous day. The health department reports 82 patients in ICU and 29 patients on ventilators.The number of long-term care facilities reporting virus outbreaks dropped from 60 to 58.
