New Evidence May Reveal Destiny 2’s End Of Season Event Ahead Of ‘Beyond Light’ – Forbes

The pieces are starting to come together for the final days of Destiny 2’s Season of Arrivals, as new evidence, both public and private, is emerging that seem like it’s painting a potential picture of what’s to come.

If you want to avoid any and all possible spoilers, steer clear now, but just know that nothing is confirmed, and this is me just attempting to piece together the puzzle without any true inside information.

So, yesterday a big deal was made out of a new emblem for Destiny 2 that was extracted from the PlayStation Store by r/raidsecrets.

The high-res art, seen above, seems to show a healed Traveler and a fixed Destiny 1 Tower, causing people to believe those may be plot developments ahead of or during the coming season. I wasn’t so sure until it was pointed out to me that this is not the first time we’ve seen a healed Traveler (which has been fractured since the end of the Red War campaign after Ghaul’s shenanigans), as a “whole” Traveler is also present in the Bungie-shared Beyond Light director:

And yes, for comparison the Traveler does appear as fractured in the current Destiny director:

As all this was going on, dataminer Parisito chimed in listing three different words, and not elaborating on what they meant, meaning they are probably things they’ve found in the data in the backend:

These could be potential new locations, ie. something in the “repaired” Tower, though Traveler’s Grace sure sounds like a mission or event name to me.

On top of all this, well before this we already knew about a “Calamity Protocol” emblem in the backend that will be acquired for “witnessing the end of season 11 event.”

All of this adds up to a central theory I have, that at the very least, we are getting an season-ending event in the style of the Almighty (though hopefully one that’s faster moving) in which we may see the Traveler heal itself, gearing up for a conflict ahead of the pending Pyramid invasion.

As for a return to the Destiny 1 Tower? That I’m less clear about. All we have to go on is that central piece of art, and I would not expect something that big as part of the end of season event. But maybe as a development in Beyond Light itself? It’s possible. The current Tower is starting to empty out. The Annex is all but completely dead with Ada-1 and Benedict leaving, and the Drifter is probably going to be on Europa now. The hangar has never had anything of relevance besides Saint the last two seasons (sorry Amanda), so sure, maybe it’s time for a new (old) space, and three years does seem like enough time to fix the old Tower. On top of all that, all the old missions which revolve around the destroyed Tower, namely the Red War campaign and Zero Hour, are now being removed from the game. But I have not seen enough evidence that proves to me that we are definitely heading back there.

The director alone is enough to convince me that the Traveler is going to be healed soon. Whether that’s literally the end of season event, I’m not sure, but it seems likely, given that it’s something everyone could be watching unfold from the Tower, just like the Almighty. Stay tuned for more info.
