The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $550 million with a cash option of $411.4 million — making it the potentially the 12th largest in U.S. lottery history.
The winning numbers were: 4, 19, 23, 25 and 49. The Power Ball drawn was 14 with a Power Play of 2X.
The Powerball jackpot hasn’t been won since Sept. 16, when someone who bought a ticket in Ballston Spa, New York, captured the $94.6 million top prize. Since then, 33 drawings have been held without a jackpot winner.
No one hit Saturday’s $470 million jackpot, though there were second-prize tickets sold in Florida and Pennsylvania. Each ticket matched five numbers but not the Powerball and is worth $1 million.
In New Jersey, four third-prize tickets matching four numbers plus the Powerball were purchased. A ticket sold at 7-Eleven on Main Avenue in Clifton is worth $100,000 because the buyer spent an extra $1 for the Power Play option, New Jersey Lottery officials said.
Three other tickets bought at the following locations are valued at $50,000 apiece:
- Mini Mart Food Store on Danforth Avenue in Jersey City
- QuickChek on Union Avenue in Hazlet
- Utopia Deli & Catering on Warwick Turnpike in the Hewitt section of West Milford
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 14, 26, 38, 45 and 46. The Power Ball drawn was 13 with a Power Play of 2X.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball is played on Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open by appointment only. You can still claim your winnings — provided they’re less than $599.50 — in person at any retailer.
The lottery is also accepting mailed claims, though officials warn payments might be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the claim form and the winning ticket for their records.
