The A-Force joins the MCU in ‘Avengers: Endgame’

In the comics, the A-Force has only been around since the
spring of 2015. Despite its short history with Marvel, the team made its first
appearance in the final battle scene in Endgame.

As fans will recall, the group of all-female superheroes helped Spider-Man (Tom Holland) protect the Infinity Gauntlet. In the film, the team included The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Rescue (Gwyneth Paltrow), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Shuri (Letitia Wright), and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).

Most of these characters are set to continue their stories
as Marvel heads into Phase 4 of the MCU. But exactly which superheroes will
survive long enough to form the A-Force is unclear.

When will Marvel start working on an ‘A-Force’ movie?

Marvel announced its full slate of Phase 4 movies last summer. Although there are plenty of exciting projects in the works, a future Avengers film was not included in the mix.

After the events in Endgame,
which saw the departure of several important heroes in the MCU, Phase 4 is
serving as a soft reboot for the studio. Unfortunately, it does not look like
an A-Force project will get underway until Phase 5 at the earliest.

Luckily, Phase 4 should introduce plenty of amazing female superheroes, many of whom will eventually make their way onto the A-Force. This includes films like Black Widow and The Eternals, plus several televisions shows, like Hawkeye, WandaVision, and She-Hulk.

Once the A-Force is formally introduced into the MCU, will
the group become the next team of Avengers?

Which characters will make up the all-female Avengers?

When it comes to which superheroes will combine forces to create the A-Force, there is a good chance that most of the characters in the Endgame scene will make the team. Although there is a good chance that Captain Marvel will lead the team, there are rumors that another character will take the top spot.

Inside sources claim that She-Hulk will be the one who leads
the A-Force instead of Captain Marvel. Marvel has yet to cast someone to play
the character, who is getting her very own TV series on Disney+.

Apart from the leader of the group, there are plenty of female characters who might join the team. In the comics, the A-Force was made up of Captain Marvel, Medusa, She-Hulk, Nico Minoru, America Chavez, and a female Loki.

Will the A-Force become the next team of Avengers in Phase
5?

At this point, it is too early to tell if the A-Force will play a prominent role in the next Avengers movie. Considering how Marvel has made it a point to be more inclusive moving forward, there is a good chance that most of the members of the A-Force will be featured in the studio’s next big crossover.

That said, Marvel has yet to say anything about the next Avengers film. The earliest the movie
will premiere is Phase 5, which gives Marvel plenty of time to set things up.

That said, a future A-Force project could easily serve as Marvel’s next crossover, especially if the studio isn’t ready for something on the scale of the Avengers.

Marvel has not commented on the rumors surrounding the A-Force. Kevin Feige, however, has confirmed that they are thinking about producing a movie about the all-female superheroes, though he has yet to announce an official release date.
