The Rocketts, a duo who competed on ‘AGT’ in 2016 were arrested last week in Farmerville, Louisiana. The siblings Kadan, 15, and Brooklyn, 13, are in the middle of a heated custody battle between their parents.
‘AGT’ Kid Magicians, The Rocketts Were Arrested Last Week
According to TMZ, Kadan and Brooklyn refused to go live with their mother. They had a very tense standoff with cops which eventually led to their arrests. Kadan and Brooklyn’s parents were divorced in 2010. There has been ongoing tension in the custody battle starting back in October 2019. They were previously ordered by a Missouri judge in 2019 to split time living with both of their parents after the duo had been living with their father in California for a few years.
The siblings were reportedly in Louisiana to attend their grandmother’s funeral at the time of their arrest. TMZ also obtained a video of the children being handcuffed as the police took them away. The cop first asked them to stand up or they would be arrested. He then grabbed Kadan and arrested him while another cop arrested Brooklyn. They say in the video that they are afraid of their mom which is why they don’t want to live with her.
Brooklyn even shed tears during the arrest as the cops read the children their Miranda rights. “You do not have a choice, this is nothing to argue about. You have to go with us. Let’s go” the cop says in the video. Their father Bart Rockett is standing nearby in the video and said “I love you guys.” They were taken to Green Oaks Detention Center in Monroe where they were held overnight and later reunited with their father.
The Family Posted On Facebook After The Incident
“My ‘babies’ are FREE and SAFE!!!! I am not allowed to post any court details at this time because of a gag order but I can tell you they are free and safe!!! (and very very very happy and hungry right now!!!! ),” their father posted on Facebook. “Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the prayers and support!!!! We can never say thanks enough. I have tears in my eyes trying to type this. It appears this lengthy nightmare may just be over.”
On his own Facebook page, Kadan wrote “I’m going to write a book one day. Maybe even do a Lifetime movie” after the arrest. Kadan and Brooklyn posed for a photo with their dad at Green Oaks Detention Center which they also posted on Facebook.
The Rocketts Previously Competed On ‘AGT’
Kadan and Brooklyn previously competed on ‘AGT’ with a magic act that Simon Cowell loved. He said that they had “fantastic showmanship.” Howie Mandel applauded the concept for the act and its originality.

The pair made it to the Semi-Finals before they were eliminated from the competition.
