Marcus Rashford was the hero in Paris for Manchester United once again. The English striker scored a dramatic late winner as United beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Tuesday in their Champions League group stage opener.

It was a match that saw the goalkeepers dominate for the most part until Rashford’s moment of magic in the 87th minute to cement the surprising scoreline against last season’s runners-up.

Surprise substitute Paul Pogba fed the ball to Rashford atop the box before the attacker got by Danilo Pereira and finished with power low shot to the far post, beating Keylor Navas.

Here is the winner:

Two seasons ago, Rashford scored a late penalty kick to knock PSG out in the round of 16. United had taken the lead midway through the first half on a penalty kick from Bruno Fernandes before an own goal from Anthony Martial brought things level early in the second half.

CBS Sports was with you the entire way providing updates, analysis and highlights below.

⚽ PSG: Anthony Martial — OWN GOAL (55′)
⚽ Man United: Marcus Rashford (87′)

Rashford lethal again in final moments

What a player who is coming up in big moments. After that clutch penalty two seasons ago, he did it again here. And he really deserved it, because he was fantastic on the night. The young English striker was super sharp on the ball, had a few good looks and got the goal he wanted when it mattered most. The defense wasn’t super sharp from PSG, but Rashford did well to quickly turn into space and hit it as sweet as could be to take the points back to England.

Rashford might want to play their second meeting later this season in Paris, too.

Credit to United’s defense and De Gea

Really strong showing from the United backline and especially goalkeeper David de Gea as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer went with five at the back with wingbacks. The Spanish goalkeeper was superb and had some great saves, including one at the far post on Kylian Mbappe’s shot.

But it wasn’t just him. Aaron Wan-Bissaka was strong and smart in his tackling in what was an exceptional performance, closing down the threats on the wing and making a couple big blocks and tackles inside the box.

PSG lacked sharpness, and it’s a concern

Not good from PSG. Sure, they were missing their engine in Marco Verratti, but to not score themselves against this United defense is concerning. Neymar didn’t look like himself, while Angel Di Maria and Mbappe were contained for the most part aside from a couple chances.

PSG had only one more chance on goal against United than Newcastle did last weekend. Thomas Tuchel probably isn’t on the hot seat just yet, but this isn’t going to help things. A really, really poor display.
